Agapenor

Asteroid 5023, Agapenor, is a Jupiter Trojan that was discovered on October 11, 1985 by Carolyn S. Shoemaker at Palomar Mountain Observatory near Pauma Valley, California. It has a period of 11 years, 294 days.

It was named for King Agapenor of Arcadia (in the Peloponnese), who fought with the Greeks during the Trojan War; the Arcadian brigade that he commanded, who were good soldiers but, being from a landlocked country, had no ships of their own or knowledge of seafaring, filled sixty ships lent by Agamemnon.

The meaning of Agapenor seems to be: unconditional love, devoted love, soul-love, altruistic love (Jewel Ellefson Mayberry); possibly, enabled by others or through others' resources.
