The meaning of asteroid Aura, according to Henk Middleraad, is: glow. It might also have to do with the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or place; the paranormal phenomenon known as the aura; the Aura River and the surrounding region in Finland; or breezes (which the ancient Greeks described as nymphs and called the Aurae).
