Asteroid 23164, Badger, was discovered on April 5, 2000 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) Team in Socorro, New Mexico. It has a period of 4 years, 283 days.

It was named for British science-fair contestant David Charles Griffiths Badger (born 1988), who was awarded second place in the 2007 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for a project having to do with electrical and mechanical engineering.
