Barker


Asteroid 7868, Barker, was discovered on October 26, 1984 by Edward "Ted" Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station of Lowell Observatory near Flagstaff, Arizona. It has a period of 4 years, 145 days and is about 9 1/4 miles in diameter.

It was named for Edwin S. Barker (born 1940), a research scientist at the McDonald Observatory of the University of Texas at Austin.
