Comas Solá (1868-1937) was the Fabra Observatory's first director and its staff named asteroid Comas Solá in his memory. He was a well-known observer of asteroids and comets for many years, discovering the short-period comet Comas Solá and 11 numbered asteroids. A crater on Mars and asteroid 1102, Pepita, are also named after him (his nickname was Pepito).
