It was named for German-American physicist Albert Einstein (1879-1955), probably the greatest scientist of the twentieth century, who began his revolutionary scientific thinking while working as an examiner in the Swiss Patent Office in Bern, near Zimmerwald. The winner of the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics, Einstein's name is synonymous with intelligence.
