Elvira

Asteroid 277, Elvira, was discovered on July 20, 1993 by Auguste Charlois at Nice, France. It has a period of 4 years, 328 days and is slightly less than 19 miles in diameter.

It may have been named for a character in Alphonse de Lamartine's works Méditations poétiques (Poetic Meditations) (1820) and Harmonies poétiques et religieuses (Poetic and Religious Harmonies)(1830).

In the modern United States, though, the name Elvira is probably most closely associated with the comic character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, created by the actress Cassandra Peterson.
