Asteroid 11697, Estrella, was discovered on March 31, 1998 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team (LINEAR) at Socorro, New Mexico. It has a period of 3 years, 214 days.

It was named for Manila high school student Allan Noriel Estrella (born 1984), who was a finalist in the 2002 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
