Fuchie


Asteroid 7891, Fuchie, was discovered November 11, 1994 by Masanori Hirasawa and Shohei Suzuki at Mount Nyukasa Station, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's observatory on Mount Nyukasa in Nagano prefecture, Japan. It has a period of 3 years, 162 days and is slightly less than 3 1/2 miles in diameter.

It was named for Fuchie Senior High School in Tokyo's Adachi ward, where Hirasawa was a science teacher (astronomy and geology). Fuchie is Japanese for "the bank of a large river."
