Fukuoka


Asteroid 8159, Fukuoka, was discovered Jan 24, 1990 by Kin Endate and Kazuro Watanabe at Kitami, Hokkaido, Japan. It has a period of 6 years, 88 days and is about 18 2/5 miles in diameter.

It was named for Takashi Fukuoka (born 1948), director of the planetarium at Sanbe Shizenkan Open Field Museum, Shimane Prefecture, and president of the San-in Society of Astronomy.

Astrologically, asteroid Fukuoka seems to indicate sex (Raymond Scott).
