Galene

Asteroid 427, Galene, was discovered August 27,1897 by Auguste Charlois at Nice, France. It has a period of 5 years, 45 days and is 20 miles in diameter.

It was named for the goddess of calm seas in Greek mythology, one of the 50 daughters of Nereus and Doris known as the Nereids.

Astrologically, asteroid Galene seems to indicate "getting the lead in" (Damien Foor); taking on a heavy/unnecessary burden; possibly also, "calm seas" (literally or figuratively).
