Ghaben


Asteroid 23178, Ghaben, was discovered on May 28, 2002 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) Team in Socorro, New Mexico. It has a period of 3 years, 149 days and is just over 1 mile in diameter.

It was named for York, Pennsylvania high school student and science fair contestant Alexandra Ghaben (born 1992), who won second place in the 2007 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for her materials and bioengineering project.
