Handlin

Asteroid 22939, Handlin, was discovered on October 10, 1999 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) Team at Socorro, New Mexico. It has a period of 5 years, 25 days.

It was named for Middletown, New Jersey high-school student and science-fair contestant Daniel Handlin (born 1989), who became a finalist in the 2007 Intel Science Talent Search with a project involving application of satellite technology.

The meaning of asteroid Handlin, though, seems to be what its name would suggest: to handle, handling, molested, given raw deal or rough handling.
