Hind

Asteroid 1897, Hind, was discovered on October 26, 1971 by Lubos Kohoutek at Bergedorf Observatory in Hamburg, Germany. It has a period of 3 years, 164 days and is about 3 1/9 miles in diameter.

It was named for British astronomer John Russell Hind (1823-1895), a longtime superintendent of the British Nautical Almanac who studied variable stars and novae and was an early discoverer of asteroids.

Astrologically, Hind seems to be about behind, back, the rump, putting something behind you.
