Holmesacourt


Asteroid 3764, Holmesacourt, was discovered on October 10, 1980 by Alison McNay at the Perth Observatory in Bickley, Western Australia, Australia. It has a period of 3 years, 137 days and is slightly over 3 1/2 miles in diameter.

It was named after Australian businessman Robert Holmes a Court (1937-1990). Holmes a Court, a native of Johannesburg, turned to business after practicing law for several years and acquired international stature, becoming a leading art collector, racehorse owner and philanthropist also. His peers described him as "a Renaissance man and a citizen of the world." (M 22829)
