Asteroid 98, Ianthe, was discovered on April 18, 1868 by CHP Peters at Clinton, New York. It has a period of 4 years, 149 days and is about 82 1/2 miles in diameter.
It was named for Ianthe, a young girl who married Iphis after she was changed from a woman to a man.
Astrologically, asteroid Ianthe seems to be about dissatisfaction with gender roles, gender-bending, identity crisis, "to make someone your girlfriend."
