
Asteroid 3152, Jones was discovered on June 7, 1983 by Alan C. Gilmore and Pamela M. Kilmartin at University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory near Tekapo, New Zealand. It has a period of 4 years,96 days and is about 19 1/4 miles in diameter.
It was named for New Zealand amateur astronomer Albert F. A. L. Jones (1920-2013).
