Katsuhiko

Asteroid 7965, Katsuhiko, was discovered on January 17, 1996 by Kin Endate and Kazuro Watanabe at Kitami Observatory at Kitami, Hokkaido, Japan. It has a period of 3 years, 294 days and is about 13 miles (21.02 kilometers) in diameter.

It was named after Japanese astrophysicist Katsuhiko Sato (born 1945), a prominent leader in astronomical cosmology research. He proposed an exponential expansion model of the early universe on the basis of the unified theory of interactions, named the Inflation Model by American physicist Alan Guth, who proposed it independently.

Katsuhiko Sato

The meaning of asteroid Katsuhiko seems to be: back under control, in a bad situation; possibly, cosmology, researching origins or ideas about origins.

The glyph for Katsuhiko is mine and is the Japanese characters for the name.
