Asteroid 5005, Kegler, was discovered on October 16, 1988 by Seiji Ueda and Hiroshi Kaneda at Kushiro Marsh Observatory in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan. It has a period of 3 years, 140 days and is about 2 1/6 miles in diameter.
