Asteroid 110288, Libai, was discovered on September 23, 2001 by William Kwong Yu (Bill) Yeung at the Desert Eagle Observatory near Benson, Arizona. It has a period of 3 years, 243 days.
It was named for the medieval Chinese poet Li Bai (701-762), also known as Li Po, who is considered one of China's greatest poets. He belonged to a group of scholars known as the "Eight Immortals of the Wine Cup" in a poem by fellow poet Du Fu.

Astrologically, asteroid Li Bai seems to indicate being happy, but then having to come back to reality; temporary solace, possibly being a killjoy or "buzzkill."
