Asteroid 18079, Lion-Stoppato, was discovered on March 27, 2000 by the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth Object Search at the Anderson Mesa Station. It has a period of 5 years, 36 days and is about 4 3/5 miles in diameter.

It was named for Italian scientist Pier Francesco Lion-Stoppato (born 1969)
