
Asteroid 7010, Locke, was discovered on August 28, 1987 by Eric W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory. It has a period of 3 years, 166 days and is slightly less than 2 3/5 miles in diameter.
It was named for the British philosopher John Locke (1632-1704), a highly influential thinker of the Era of Enlightenment.
