Lugh

Asteroid 217628, Lugh, an Apollo object, was discovered on April 17, 1990 by Antonin Mrkos at Klet Observatory in the Czech Republic. It has a period of 4 years, 30 days.

It was named for the Celtic god of the sun and light, Lugh. He was known for many skills as smith, warrior, druid and bard. His name has been commemorated in numerous place-names in former Celtic Europe. The summer harvest festival called Lughnasadh (also known as Lammas) bears his name.

The astrological meaning of asteroid Lugh seems to be: a harvest, harvesting.
