Asteroid 782, Montefiore, was discovered on March 18, 1914 by Johann Palisa at Vienna, Austria. It has a period of 3 years, 80 days and is slightly less than 9 miles in diameter.
It was named by friends of Palisa, probably for Clarice Sebag-Montefiore von Rothschild (1894-1943), a British woman who married into the Rothschild family in 1912, becoming the wife of Baron Alfons von Rothschild, a member of the Vienna branch of the storied banking family who devoted himself to his stamp and art collections and fled to the United States with his family when the Nazis took over Austria.
Astrologically, Montefiore seems to indicate being in trouble; possibly, association with someone who is indolent and doesn't want to work (and may or may not have to) .
