Numa

Asteroid 15854, Numa, was discovered on February 15, 1996 by Vincenzo Silvano Casulli at Colleverde di Guidonia, Roma province, Italy. It has a period of 3 years, 116 days.

It was named for Numa Pompilius, second king of Rome, who reigned from 715 to 672 BCE. He founded the sacred law of Rome and reformed the calendar.

The meaning of asteroid Numa seems to be: numinous, numismatic, sacred law (religious as opposed to secular law, or hallowed law), possibly, having to do with calendars.
