Asteroid 4500, Pascal, was discovered on February 3, 1989 by Seiji Ueda and Hiroshi Kaneda at Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan. It has a period of 5 years, 237 days and is 18.56 kilometers in diameter.

It was named for French mathematician, physicist, and religious philosopher Blaise Pascal (1623-1662).
