Asteroid 3200, Phaethon, is an Apollo asteroid discovered on October 11, 1983 by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS), which gets the credit for its discovery. Phaethon has a period of 1 year, 158 days and is a little over 5 miles in diameter.
It was named for Phaethon, son of Helios, god of the sun, and the mortal princess Clymene, who, when he discovered who his father was, traveled to his home to see him, and persuaded Helios against his better judgment to let him drive the chariot of the sun for one day. Phaethon couldn't control the horses of the chariot and they ran wild across the sky, setting fires down on the Earth, and Zeus was forced to kill Phaethon with a thunderbolt to keep the Earth from getting burned up.
Phaethon
Astrologically, Phaethon seems to indicate being out of control, something that "takes off" or is "a phenomenon," that which pertains to cars or driving, being "in the driver's seat," being out of one's depth.
