Pigott

Asteroid 10220, Pigott, was discovered on October 20, 1997 by Roy A. Tucker at Goodricke-Pigott Observatory in Tucson, Arizona. It has a period of 4 years, 153 days.

It was named for the British astronomer Edward Pigott (1753-1825), who is credited with establishing the study of variable stars, and his father Nathaniel Pigott (1725-1804), also an astronomer.

The meaning of asteroid Pigott seems to be: gluttony, ravenous, to "pig out".
