It was named for French aviator, World War II resistance fighter, and author Antoine de Saint-Exupery (officially Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, comte [count] de Saint Exupéry; 1900-1944). His best-known work is perhaps The Little Prince (1943).
