Seneca


Asteroid 2608, Seneca, an Amor asteroid, was discovered on February 17, 1978 by Hans-Emil Schuster at La Silla Observatory near Pedernales, Coquimbo, Chile. It has a period of 3 years, 352 days. and is about two-thirds of a mile in diameter.

It was named for the Roman philosopher and statesman Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 BC-65), also known as Seneca the Younger. Seneca was noted for not always practicing what he preached.
