Serrana

by

Francisco Gonzalez Bocanegra

Arriving in Piņeda

from the weary mountain,

I saw in a green meadow

a very cheerful mountain girl,

Vila, accompanied

by many servers,

in an orchestrated dance

of tacit sounds.

Anyone who saw it---

like me, very intensely!--

would have greatly enjoyed

the presence of my beloved.

Beauty alone

acts as a driver,

and great elegance,

and a great cleansing.

It is true that through love

I was greatly changed;

yes, in spite of myself,

I was in love.
