Asteroid 9005, Sidorova, was discovered on October 20, 1982 by Lyudmila G, Karachkina at Nauchnyj, Ukraine. It has a period of 4 years, 64 days and is slightly less than 7 1/3 miles in diameter.

It was named for Ukrainian educator Sophia Ivanovna Sidorova (born 1943), "a tireless worker on behalf of public education in Ukraine," according to the MPC citation, and a leader of the Crimean Republic Committee for workers' education.
