Asteroid 2037, Tripaxeptalis, was discovered on October 25, 1973 by Paul Wild at Zimmerwald Observatory in Wald, Bern canton, Switzerland. It has a period of 3 years, 179 days.

Its name is whimsically derived from its minor planet number using arithmetic and two other asteroids' minor planet numbers. 2037 is 679, which is 3 ("tri") times 679, the number of Pax, and also 7 ("sept" or "xept") times 291, the number of Alice ("alis").

The astrological meaning of Tripaxeptalis seems to be: "by the numbers", a count or co8nting, mathematics or arithmetic, numerology.
