Winchester

Asteroid 747, Winchester, was discovered on March 7, 1913 by Joel H. Metcalf at Winchester, Massachusetts. It has a period of 5 years, 2 days and is about 128 miles in diameter.

Metcalf, a Unitarian minister and amateur astronomer originally from Pennsylvania, named the asteroid for the city of Winchester, about five miles north of Boston in Middlesex County, where he was working at the time he found the asteroid.

Winchester also happens to be a well-known brand of rifle.

Asteroid Winchester's astrological meaning seems to be : having to do with guns, or guilt over use or misuse of guns or over violence./b>
