Asteroid 5731, Zeus, is an Apollo asteroid discovered on November 4, 1988 by Carolyn S. Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory near Pauma Valley, California. It has a period of 3 years, 147 days.

It was named for the Greek supreme god, Zeus, Lord of the Sky, who the Romans called Jupiter.

Astrologically, asteroid Zeus has been linked to explosions, fire, penetration, good aim.
