Asteroid, 269, Justitia was discovered September 21, 1887 by Johann Palisa at Vienna, Austria. It has a period of 4 years, 85 days and is about 31 1/2 miles in diameter.

It was named for Justitia,the Roman goddess of justice.

Statues of Justitia ("Lady Justice") like this one are often found outside courthouses.


Astrologically, asteroid Justitia seems to be about justice (Raymond Scott).
