It was named for Dainere Monique Anthoney (1998-2013), an Australian girl diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer, in 2009 who spent the next four years until her death at 15 raising awareness and funds for brain cancer research, writing a blog and two children's books with all proceeds going to the Sydney Children's Hospital Brain Cancer Fund.
