Asteroid 20246, Frappa, was discovered March 1, 1998 by the OCA-DLR Asteroid Survey at Caussols, France. It has a period of 3 years, 175 days and is about 1 1/2 miles in diameter.

It was named for French astronomer Eric Frappa (born 1969), a specialist in occultations of stars by asteroids.
